Andrew Yang is an American businessman, attorney, and political commentator who was a candidate in the 2020 Democratic presidential primaries, where his signature proposal was a $1,000-a-month universal basic income. In 2021 he founded the centrist Forward Party, serving as co-chair alongside former New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. He hosts a weekly podcast, originally Yang Speaks and now folded into his Forward brand.

Yang sits in the reform-minded center: a former 2020 Democratic presidential candidate best known for his $1,000-a-month universal basic income proposal, he formally left the Democratic Party in October 2021 and co-founded the Forward Party with former Republican New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman.
