Shapiro is a movement conservative in the traditional mold — free-market, socially conservative, and strongly pro-Israel — and co-founder of The Daily Wire, where he hosts The Ben Shapiro Show. He opposed Trump in the 2016 primary after resigning from Breitbart, later became a supporter, and backed Trump through the 2024 campaign and the June 2025 strikes on Iran. He has still clashed repeatedly with the second Trump administration, most consistently over the April 2025 'Liberation Day' tariffs and what he called a 'very Obama-esque' approach to Iran negotiations, positioning him against the populist and isolationist wings of the online right. His company has had a turbulent 2025-26: co-founder Jeremy Boreing stepped down as co-CEO in March 2025, longtime co-CEO Caleb Robinson took the role alone and then resigned in May 2026, and layoffs announced in May 2026 hit the Nashville production operation amid declining viewership.
