Bongino is one of the most prominent voices of the pro-Trump populist right, a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent who became a top conservative podcaster and radio host. In March 2025 he left his show to serve as deputy director of the FBI in the Trump administration, an unusual creator-to-government move, but announced in December 2025 he would step down; his roughly ten-month tenure included reported clashes with Attorney General Pam Bondi over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, and he left the bureau in January 2026.
