D'Souza is a conservative author and filmmaker firmly aligned with the Trump movement, hosting a daily podcast on the Salem Podcast Network and a weeknight show on Salem News Channel. He began as a policy analyst in the Reagan White House and wrote mainstream conservative bestsellers before pleading guilty to a campaign-finance violation in 2014; President Trump pardoned him in 2018. His 2022 film "2000 Mules," which alleged coordinated ballot fraud in the 2020 election, was retracted by publisher Salem Media in mid-2024, with D'Souza acknowledging the surveillance footage had been characterized on the basis of inaccurate information.
