Cousins is a progressive commentator whose politics have been consistently on the left throughout his career: he spent about twenty years with Ring of Fire, the progressive radio and video network co-founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Mike Papantonio, where he was a longtime host and executive editor of its magazine.
