Leah Litman

Litman is a constitutional law professor at the University of Michigan who has become one of the most prominent progressive critics of the Supreme Court's conservative majority. Since 2019 she has co-hosted Strict Scrutiny with fellow law professors Melissa Murray and Kate Shaw; the show was acquired by Crooked Media, the progressive company behind Pod Save America, in January 2022. Her May 2025 book "Lawless: How the Supreme Court Runs on Conservative Grievance, Fringe Theories, and Bad Vibes" — a New York Times bestseller — argues the Court's conservative justices have abandoned principled legal reasoning in favor of ideological outcomes. As of 2026 she remains active as a commentator for outlets including CNN and The New York Times, and the podcast is touring live as "The Bad Decisions Tour 2026."
