Marc Elias is a Democratic election and voting rights attorney and founder of Democracy Docket, a platform focused on voting rights and election litigation. Before founding the Elias Law Group in 2021, he led the political law practice at Perkins Coie, representing the Democratic National Committee and numerous Democratic candidates and committees. Marc Elias is the Democratic Party's best-known election lawyer and an explicitly partisan legal advocate: his Elias Law Group describes itself as committed to helping Democrats win, and his platform Democracy Docket (founded 2020) covers voting rights and election litigation from that vantage point. He won more than 60 post-election cases against Trump and his allies after 2020, and in 2025-2026 has been litigating against the Trump administration's voting-related executive orders and DOJ suits over state voter files, including a Supreme Court win on mail-ballot deadlines.
