Common questions

Is Mike Papantonio left or right?
Papantonio is a mass-torts trial lawyer who has anchored the progressive media brand Ring of Fire since co-founding the syndicated radio show in 2004, built around exposing corporate wrongdoing, Wall Street abuses, and what it describes as corporate-media failure. His commentary sits on the economic-populist left: critical of Republican politicians and of corporate influence over both parties, with his legal work against drug and chemical companies feeding directly into the show's themes. He hosts the weekly "America's Lawyer" program on the Ring of Fire channel; longtime co-host Farron Cousins, who handled the daily political segments for years, announced his departure from the network in 2025, and Josh Gay was named the new full-time host in 2026. Papantonio's positioning has been consistent for two decades — a progressive, consumer-protection-focused critic of corporate power rather than a party-establishment voice.
