Sam Seder

Sam Seder sits on the progressive left of American politics and has hosted The Majority Report, a daily independent talk show, since 2010, having earlier co-hosted the Air America Radio original with Janeane Garofalo from 2004 to 2006 and contributed to MSNBC. The show operates in the space between mainstream progressivism and democratic socialism — it regularly platforms socialist commentary and its co-host Emma Vigeland appears at Democratic Socialists of America events — while Seder himself is most commonly described, including by neutral reference sources, as a progressive commentator. He gained a large new audience in March 2025 when he debated 20 Trump supporters on Jubilee Media's "Surrounded" series, a video that drew millions of views within days. His positioning has been stable for two decades: consistently left of the Democratic establishment but engaged with electoral politics rather than opposed to it.
