The Young Turks (TYT) is an American progressive and left-wing populist news and commentary program streamed on YouTube and other platforms, co-hosted by Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian. Created by Uygur and others in 2002, it began as a radio show before moving online, and is one of the longest-running and most-watched online political talk shows, covering U.S. politics, world events, and culture in a daily livestream format.

Is The Young Turks left or right?
The Young Turks, co-hosted by Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, is one of the oldest and largest progressive online news networks, founded in 2002 and rooted in left-wing populism. Since the 2024 election, however, its posture has shifted from Democratic-adjacent progressivism to an explicitly anti-establishment populism: Uygur said after Trump's victory that 'MAGA is not my mortal enemy, the establishment is,' spoke at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest calling for a populist revolt against Democratic leaders, and the network has hosted conversations with right-wing figures such as Charlie Kirk and Glenn Beck — moves that prompted an on-air staff resignation in December 2024 and public feuds with other left outlets. Kasparian changed her registration from Democrat to independent in 2024 and has broken with progressives on issues like crime. The network still identifies as left-wing and populist on economics, but it now positions itself against the Democratic establishment as much as against the right; in 2026 Uygur was barred from entering the UK, which he attributes to his criticism of Israel.
