Tim Pool now sits on the MAGA-aligned populist right, though he arrived there via a long drift: he first gained attention livestreaming Occupy Wall Street in 2011 and worked for Vice and Fusion before going independent and moving right through the late 2010s, long self-describing as a disaffected liberal or centrist. That framing is largely historical — he interviewed Donald Trump on his show in May 2024 and endorsed him later in the campaign, and in 2025 Timcast joined the White House press pool as part of the administration's embrace of right-leaning new media, with Pool asking questions in the briefing room. In September 2024 he was identified as one of six conservative influencers paid through Tenet Media, a company a DOJ indictment alleged was covertly funded by Russian state-media employees; prosecutors described the influencers as unwitting, and Pool has disputed characterizations of the arrangement. Into 2026 he continues daily pro-Trump-leaning commentary on Timcast IRL, defending his 2024 vote primarily on foreign-policy grounds while occasionally criticizing Trump's attacks on fellow right-wing pundits.
