Is Timcast IRL left or right?
Timcast IRL is the flagship nightly panel show of Tim Pool, who sits on the populist right: he endorsed Trump's 2024 re-election after interviewing him in May 2024, and a Timcast representative was added to the White House press pool under the second Trump administration. His trajectory is one of the best-known left-to-right migrations in online media — he began as an Occupy Wall Street livestreamer in 2011 and a Vice journalist in 2013-14, described himself as a centrist or 'center libertarian left' as late as 2019, and has since fully aligned with right-wing independent media (AllSides rated the show Lean Right in April 2025). In September 2024 a DOJ indictment alleged that Tenet Media, a company that had paid Pool for content, was covertly funded by Russian state media employees; prosecutors said Pool and the other creators were unaware, and Pool said he was a victim of the scheme and kept editorial control. Through 2025-2026 he has grown openly critical of the Trump administration — on Iran, affordability, and deportation policy — positioning himself as a pro-Trump voter who criticizes 'MAGA dorks' for uncritical loyalty.
