Carlson sits on the nationalist, anti-interventionist right — a paleoconservative 'America First' position that puts opposition to foreign wars and skepticism of US support for Israel ahead of Republican party loyalty. After Fox News ended his show in April 2023, he built an independent operation and launched The Tucker Carlson Show in 2024. Following the US joining Israel's strikes on Iran in early 2026, he concluded Trump had broken his promise of no new Middle East wars; by June-July 2026 he said he would not vote Republican in the midterms, calling the GOP disloyal to US interests, and announced he would help build an anti-war third party. He remains firmly of the right on culture and immigration, but is now the most prominent right-wing voice in open opposition to both parties' foreign policy.
